Singapore's name is derived from the Malay words 'Singa Pura' , which means ‘Lion City’. That explains why images of lions are so abundant there - not the real lions you can find in a zoo or see in books. The symbol of Singapore is a Merlion, a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish. The lion represents strength and bravery, and the mermaid-like tail represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village and its unbreakable bond with the sea. Legend has it that this name was given to the city by a Sumatran prince called Sang Nila Utama. In the heart of the jungle, he encountered a magnificent lion. The prince pulled out his sword and prepared for a fight, but their eyes met and they peacefully parted, each going his way. Since then, the Merlion has been believed to be the guardian of Singapore.

This incredible city creates the feel of a distant future, as if you've jumped over decades to get into a perfect new world. Fantastic skyscrapers neighbor colonial houses, Christian cathedrals stand side-by-side with ancient Chinese temples. The city is dominated by the Marina Bay Sands, one of the world’s most famous hotels, and the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest observation wheel, towering over Marina Bay and providing Singapore’s most iconic views. You will stroll along the charming Clarke Quay with its cozy cafes and tantalizing restaurants, visit fabulous Sentosa Island, and Southeast Asia's first Hollywood movie theme park, Universal Studios.

All kinds of attractions await guests. So, welcome to Singapore, the city of your dreams!

Note: Please do not forget your passport and return ticket to Thailand.
