Visit to the temples of ancient Siam: Wat Phra Si Sanpet, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Wat Mahathat, Wat Chai Watthanaram; stone Buddha in tree roots and Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, with lunch provided.
Founded in 1350, Ayutthaya was the capital city of the ancient Ayutthaya Kingdom, the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai, and one of the most beautiful of Southeast Asia. Legend has it that the Buddhist statues, stupas, and temples were lavishly decorated with precious stones and gold, which have since been looted many times over. Attracting tourists with its once incredible architecture, ruins of towers and fortress walls, tumbledown steps of temples, palace gates, while the great number of stone Buddha statues will remind visitors of its former grandeur. Today, Ayutthaya is a city within Central Thailand, its ancient ruins carefully preserved among the more modern architecture. In 1991, the historic center of Ayutthaya was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
