Airlines Increase Flights to Meet Demand

01 November 2017

Thailand's popularity among foreign tourists keeps growing, and the world’s major air carriers are expanding service to the Land of Smiles to meet the demand.

Since 29 October, Thai Airways International has added three weekly flights from Beijing to Phuket, bringing the number of weekly flights to seven.

Vietjet, a Vietnamese airline, will start direct service from Ho Chi Min to Phuket beginning 15 December. In January, AirAsia will launch a direct route between Macau and Phuket. That flight will operate twice weekly. On 28 January, Qatar Airways will inaugurate direct service between Doha and Pattaya – the fifth route connecting Qatar and Thailand. Flights will operate four times a week. The company has announced its intent to launch flights to Chiang Mai this December in addition to existing service to Bangkok, Krabi, and Phuket.
