The upcoming year has been dubbed ‘the year of Khon’, Thailand’s classical masked drama entered in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Dating back several centuries, this complex artistic dance performance is based on and features stories and characters of Ramakien, the Thai version of the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana.
