Phuket is to receive THB 71 bln (over US $2 bln) to improve traffic management and develop new infrastructure facilities. A large part will be invested in the Patong tunnel, also known as the Kathu-Patong expressway.
This substantial inflow is expected to support the island’s economy and the tourism industry in the entire region.
