Bangkok Street Food Festival Scheduled for June

26 April 2017

The Tourism Authority of Thailand, in cooperation with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) plans to hold the Bangkok Street Food Festival in June. The venue is yet to be determined, but contenders include popular tourist areas Khao San, Yaowarat and Pratunam Road.

TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said he was certain that the event would attract foreign visitors to the country and provide great exposure to local roadside cuisine. In addition, he said that the event will be in line with CNN's recent listing of Bangkok as the city with the best street food in the world.

Mr. Supasorn said no crackdown on street vendors in the Thai capital is planned, and that enforcement activity was only aimed at improving food hygiene. Tourists are invited to sample the tantalizing dishes for which Bangkok is world-renowned. Fragrant and sizzling, they will remain affordable, while quality regulations are tightened.
