Street Food Attracts Tourists

15 May 2017

Bangkok’s Bang Khunthian district may soon become a Mecca for street food vendors. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is working with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to promote local cuisine, encourage food-tasting tourism, and lure more travelers

This will be the third tourist attraction in the area, joining Chinatown and Khaosan Road to become a traditional street food hub.

“Each tourist spot should have its own character,” Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul said.

Bang Khunthian is renowned for its seafood, which is expected to dominate the menu.

Municipal authorities plan to enhance food safety measures and improve hygiene.
