The Giant Swing, Bangkok's iconic landmark, is closed for renovation.
The historic attraction was last repaired 10 years ago when the golden teak main poles were replaced. Now they are in fairly good condition, experts say, but need resurfacing.
Work is expected to take about 300 days and the local authorities have allocated THB 2 million for the facelift. The Giant Swing has been listed as a national heritage site since 22 November 1949.
