Thailand’s Culture Ministry reports that more than 2.5 million people have visited the royal crematorium in the past month.
The crematorium, at Sanam Luang in Bangkok, was used for King Bhumibol Adulyadej. It now houses an exhibition on the life of the much-beloved monarch’s life and legacy. Some of the late King Bhumibol’s personal belongings are on display.
The exhibition was initially scheduled to close on 30 November, but has been extended to 31 December.
The museum receives about 140,000 visitors daily.
When the exhibition closes, the crematorium will be dismantled and most parts transferred to temples and museums throughout Thailand.
