Bangkok’s celebrated Dusit Zoo has closed and is relocating to Pathum Thani province. Two working groups are supervising the relocation of the 79-year old park - one will care for the animals, and the other will oversee construction work on the zoo’s new 48 ha home.
It could take three years before the moving starts, and THB 1 million to develop the facilities, management reports. The country's oldest zoo, Dusit is visited by around 2 million people each year, generating around THB 120 million baht in annual revenue.
