Thailand set a new tourism record in 2017, with 35 million international visitors to the Kingdom received by year-end, the Tourism Authority of Thailand reports.
On 29 December, as part of the “Thailand’s Luckiest Visitor” campaign, a German tourist was singled out as visitor number 35 million and presented with prizes including two economy-class return tickets good for another trip from her home to Thailand, as well as other gifts and bonuses from tourism and hospitality service providers.
The “Thailand’s Luckiest Visitor” campaign was rolled out in June 2015 to reward visitors who break arrival tourism records and attract more travelers to the Kingdom.
