Chiang Mai’s Bo Sang village has gained worldwide popularity for its unique paper umbrellas and fans. The settlement is also renowned for its annual Bo Sang Umbrella and Sankampang Handicrafts Festival, which will be held this year from 19 - 21 January.
Traditionally, umbrellas are made from hand-painted mulberry bark paper with sophisticated flower patterns, however cotton and silk are also used. Each item is unique and meticulously produced by hand. Visitors are invited to enjoy the Bo Sang Beauty Pageant Bike Parade, concerts, and a food festival.
