A new tiger-petting zoo will soon reopen near the notorious Tiger Temple in Kanchanabury province, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation of Thailand said. The zoo will become home to 24 tigers who will remain under immediate control of the Department to ensure their safety and protect the animals against illegal poaching.
The so-called Tiger Temple was closed in 2016 following numerous complaints of cruel treatment of animals and all of the tigers were seized by Thai authorities.
