In 2018, U-Tapao International Airport is expected to handle twice as many passengers, and an investment of THB 200 billion aimed at enhancing the airport’s capacity is reported to start next year.
The airport is a joint civil–military public airport serving Rayong and Pattaya cities in Thailand. It is in the Ban Chang District of Rayong province. Management plans make the facility one of Thailand’s key air hubs under the Eastern Economic Corridor Initiative.
