Bloomberg's Misery Index 2018 has named Thailand the least miserable country for the fourth year in a row. The index covers 66 nations. The ranking is based on a time-proven concept that low inflation and unemployment reflect the mood of a country’s residents.
According to the Bank of Thailand, last year the Thai inflation rate slowed to just 0.66%, and the unemployment rate was an average of 1.04%.
Other happy countries include Singapore, with a misery value of 2.8, followed by Japan (3.3), Switzerland (3.7), and Iceland (3.9).
