Thailand has redesigned its currency to embrace its new king.
New 20-, 50-, and 100-baht notes will enter circulation on April 6. The new notes will feature a portrait of the new ruler, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Rama X. The bills previously carried the likeness of his late father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Thailand’s central bank said that updated 500- and 1,000-baht bills will be released on July 28, His Majesty’s birthday.
