Satun’s unrivalled cultural and wildlife diversity has lead UNESCO to name it Thailand’s first Global Geopark.
The Geopark will cover four of seven districts in the province: Thung Wa, Manang, Langu, and part of Muang district, which have a population of about 113,110.
The Geopark's status shall be effective until 2021, after which it will be considered for renewal.
