Effective 15 October, overnight stays in the Similan Islands will not prohibited for tourists, the national park management said.
The number of visitors allowed on the archipelago will also be restricted. One of the Kingdom’s most overcrowded parks, Mu Koh Similan used to receive 5,000 to 6,000 visitors a day. On 16 May, the park was closed to the public to enable it to recover from damage caused by excessive tourism.
