The vibrant Kathu Cultural Street Festival kicked off on Wichit Songkhram Road in Kathu district on 27 July. The annual event showcases the extraordinary cultural heritage of one of Phuket’s oldest communities. Highlights include colorful performances and a local food and handicraft fair.
The festival helps to preserve the traditions, history, and culture of the diverse Kathu community of Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Malaysian residents, and depicts their daily routine and lifestyle.
The festival has been held on Phuket since 2008. The celebration will continue until 29 July.
