Thailand received accolades in six categories of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) Grand and Gold Awards 2018.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand will receive a Grand Award for Education and Training for its ‘King’s Wisdom for Sustainable Tourism’ project, a collaboration between TAT and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Khao Soks’ Elephant Hills Luxury Tented Camps won a Grand Award in the Environmental category for the second year in a row. The Award recognises the Camps’ accomplishments, including its Elephant Conservation Project, Children’s Project, and Wildlife Monitoring Project.
This year, PATA received over 200 submissions from 87 organizations and private individuals. An independent panel of 14 senior travel, tourism and hospitality industry executives selected the winners.
The PATA Grand and Gold Awards have been presented since 1995. This year, the ceremony was held in in Langkawi, Malaysia on 14 September, during the PATA Travel Mart 2018.
