Chonburi provincial authorities, in cooperation with traffic police and the highway department, are contemplating a large-scale campaign to reduce the number of auto accidents.
The campaign includes expanding the network of checkpoints tasked to control the use of helmets by scooter riders, the use of safety belts by auto drivers and passengers, and the possession of a license by public transportation services providers.
Another move taken to fight speeding is to install additional CCTV cameras along the roads.
