On 9 September, 100 electric taxis will begin service at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The land transport department said that by 2020 the fleet will be increased to 1,000 e-vehicles.
The base fare will be THB 150 (around US $4.60) for the first two kilometers, and THB 16 (US $.50) per kilometer thereafter. All of the electric vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers and tablets with internet access. Arrange taxis at the service counter in Suvarnabhumi Airport.
There are presently just 30 charging stations in the capital. The cars in service are BYD E6’s, which have a range of 300 km.
