PM Declares War on Capital’s Pigeons

Citing concern over the spread of diseases like bird flu, Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has led Bangkok authorities to launch a war on pigeons. Birds will be captured, and citizens will be banned from feeding them. Violators will face stiff fines and jail time, with offenders being jailed for three months or paying a fines of THB 25,000 (US$770).
