Thailand has got a new queen just a few days before the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn. The wedding ceremony was held last weekend in Bangkok. His Majesty married Suthida Tidjai, a full general in the Royal Thai Army and the deputy commander of the King’s protection unit. Ms Tidjai, now Queen Suthida Vajiralongkorn na Ayudhaya, is known to have worked as a flight attendant at Thai Airways before joining the personal bodyguard unit of then-Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn.
