Expansion Project at Suvarnabhumi Airport Underway

The Thai cabinet has approved the construction of a third runway at Suvarnabhumi Intenational Airport. Estimated at THB21.7 billion, the project spanning three major airports in the Greater Bangkok area is aimed at making Thailand a major ASEAN hub. Once the third runway is complete, the airport will be able to handle up to 94 flights an hour compared to the current capacity of 64 flights an hour.
