During this year’s Chinese New Year celebration, Thailand expects to welcome more than 380,000 visitors from the Celestial Empire. These Chinese visitors will spend nearly $400 million, Thai tourism officials said.
During the first quarter of 2017, Thai officials expect an 8% increase in arrivals, year-on-year, with more than 9.3 million travelers from overseas generating around THB 730 billion ($20.8 billion).
Thailand remains the top destination for Chinese, followed by Russia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and South Korea.
