Thailand’s tourism and sports ministry has named the winners in a contest to recognize the Kingdom’s top tourism destinations of 2016. Winners include Phetchaburi province’s sea mud flats, handicraft communities in Chiang Mai, Lamphun and Lampang provinces, and communities along the Andaman Sea in Krabi.
Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul said the seven best destinations were selected from 17 destinations across the country.
The award was presented in three categories: ecotourism, community-based tourism, and cultural tourism.
