Officials of Thailand’s tourism authority plan to work with four major Asian airlines to draw more visitors to the Kingdom. Japan Air Lines, All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airlines, and Korean Air are being targeted
“Japan and South Korea are important markets for Thailand, but many tourists are unable to travel to Thailand during peak season because of a shortage of available seats. As these airlines are premium carriers, they should [be able to bring in] more quality tourists or high spenders from Japan and South Korea,” said TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn.
In 2017, Thailand expects to receive more than 34 million foreign tourists, generating over THB 1.8 trillion in revenue.
