The Tourism Authority of Thailand and Michelin Group have agreed to produce the Bangkok Michelin Guide. Michelin guides are considered the world's most authoritative restaurant references.
The Michelin Guide Bangkok will be published in English and Thai and will be published in both print and electronic editions.
The guidebook will spotlight the best of Thai cuisine and enhance the country’s reputation as a fine dining destination. TAT hopes the guide will attract gourmets from across the globe. It is expected to benefit Thailand’s tourism industry and boost business for Bangkok restaurants, as well as an opportunity to pump up economic growth in the Kingdom, resulting in a 10% increase in international arrivals.
The inaugural edition will be released at year-end. Further editions will be expanded to include other regions, TAT said.
Published since 1900, the Michelin Guide covers restaurants and fine dining venues in 28 countries worldwide.
