The Tourism Authority of Thailand and Qatar Airways will jointly promote Thailand to travelers in the more than 150 destinations the airline serves. An agreement between TAT and the airline was signed at the Arabian Travel Market show in Dubai.
“Our partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand allows us to work together to attract more travelers from secondary cities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.
Qatar Airways launched direct service to Thailand 20 years ago. Beginning 1 June, the company will increase the number of flights from Doha to the Kingdom to 53 per week, adding a fifth daily non-stop flight to the capital, for a total of five daily flights from Doha to Bangkok, two daily flights to Phuket, and four flights a week to Krabi. A flight from Doha to Chiang Mai is being considered as well.
