The government has extended the period of stay for patients coming to Thailand for medical treatment from 30 to 90 days. Patients from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and China are affected by the change.
The new regulations were developed by the country’s Public Health Ministry and the Tourism and Sports Ministry in line with the Kingdom’s 10-year strategic plan to make Thailand one of the world’s major medical hubs.
At present, there are more than 160 medical institutions offering services to foreign tourists in Thailand.
