Samut Sakhon provincial officials have organized a special tour of an area in the Gulf of Thailand where Bryde’s whales have been spotted. Designed for media and tourism operators, the route passes a number of mussel farms as well as a Buddhist shrine set up in the open water.
The site for viewing whales lies around 16 kilometers, or a two-hour ride, off the coast. During the trip, a mother and calf whale were seen and immediately nicknamed Wandee and Wanmai.
